On Saturday our nation experienced a tragic act of anti-Semitic violence and hatred with the killings of 11 people at the Tree of Life synagogue in the Squirrel Hill suburb of Pittsburgh. On behalf of all of us at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I express our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families and friends of the victims, the Tree of Life congregants and their extended family among the students, faculty and staff here at Carolina and in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro communities.
We know many of you are deeply affected by this news. Now is a time to care for our community with kindness and support, promoting peace and acceptance. There are campus resources available to help.
