Message for faculty and staff as Carolina transitions to remote instruction

As Carolina begins remote learning for all undergraduates, Chancellor Kevin M. Guskiewicz offers a message to our faculty and staff.

Dear Colleagues,

We hope this message finds you safe and healthy. The past several weeks have been a tremendous challenge, and we want to share a special message recognizing your continued commitment to our University in the face of the global Coronavirus pandemic. We appreciate your efforts to overcome these challenges.

Our highest priority is to protect the health and well-being of all members of the campus community. By working to de-densify our campus, we can help to mitigate the spread of the virus.

While undergraduate instruction is now remote, our campus remains largely operational. Some graduate and professional schools remain in-person, as well as health affairs instruction. Libraries, dining facilities and bookstores will have modified hours, which are being worked out now. Please check the Carolina Together site for updates.

We remain committed to our students’ well-being and academic success during this challenging time and ask for your flexibility and compassion to help them achieve their goals. Thank you, as always, for all you do to enable the University to fulfill its mission of teaching, research and service.
