Message from University leadership: Offering support
Dear Campus Community,
The tragic events of this week—the deaths of two black men in Minnesota and Louisiana and five police officers in Dallas — have left us hurting. We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the families and to their communities.
In the face of these heartbreaking acts, our grief, anger and frustration can seem overwhelming. If you are struggling in any way, please seek help. If you know of someone who may be struggling, please reach out and offer support. The University has counseling services available for students, faculty and staff. During regular business hours, students are encouraged to call Counseling and Psychological Services at 919-966-3658. After hours, students may call 919-966-2281 for immediate assistance. Faculty and staff may contact our Employee Assistance Program 24 hours a day at 877-314-5841.
Our Carolina Community is at its best when we come together and support one another with love, kindness and compassion. We must especially live that today and in the many days to come.
Sincerely,
Carol L. Folt
